El-Sayed’s Half-Sister Imagines Blowing Up Jews In Israel

In a harrowing vision of violence, the half-sister of Democrat Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed openly imagined a future October 7-style massacre of Jews in her novel detailing the “Final Intifada.” The novel is apparently a chilling fantasy that emerges alongside resurfaced posts where she explicitly outlined her family’s deep ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Eman Abdelhadi, a University of Chicago professor and El-Sayed’s maternal half-sister, described her book as a collection of fictional future oral histories celebrating the destruction of Israel between 2030 and 2038.

In her own explanation of the novel, a fictional fighter named Hassan recalls the violent border breach.

“It was the most beautiful day of my life. … Bombing the borders, blowing up military outposts and all that. … Those of us that were armed started shooting at them. Some people made Molotov cocktails,” the character says.

She added that her narrative depicts guerrilla operations targeting the Gaza border after global boycotts cripple the economy and weapons dry up, culminating in the fall of the border and mass bloodshed.

The disturbing novel comes into sharp focus as El-Sayed faces intense heat over his family background. During an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” El-Sayed issued a categorical “no” when host Kristen Welker asked if he could set the record straight on family connections to the Muslim Brotherhood. He labeled the scrutiny Islamophobic.

However, Abdelhadi’s own public statements appear to contradict his denials.

“My family has long been MB,” she posted in June 2012, later adding that she had an “amazing talk with my mom about her activism in the Muslim Brotherhood during the early 70s while she was in college.” In July 2013, she noted having “family jailed for being a part of it” and warned Egyptian relatives to “Lie low, stay safe.”

Abdelhadi wrote in 2012 that their mother, Fatten Elkomy, was active in the Muslim Brotherhood in the early 1970s while attending Alexandria University. Federal court exhibits link Elkomy to wire transfers between 1999 and 2002, while she worked for the Islamic American Relief Agency (IARA-USA). Treasury designated IARA in 2004, alleging its global network funded Osama bin Laden, the Taliban and Hamas. In 2016, the charity pleaded guilty to violating Iraq sanctions and agreed to dissolve. There is no public record that Elkomy was charged.

El-Sayed’s campaign called the revelations “bad faith attacks” meant to distract voters, but his own history includes signing a 2012 open letter calling on Egypt’s Brotherhood leadership to “purge the media and police,” alongside public statements supporting former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, a Muslim Brotherhood leader. There has also been additional scrutiny surrounding his father-in-law’s past leadership roles at ISNA and CAIR, which were both unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation terror-financing case.
